If you have provided Prairie iNet with the e-mail
address names you want (e.g. johndoe@prairieinet.net),
when you signed up for service, or via a call
to our Customer Service line, you will now need
to change the settings of the e-mail software
program on your computer to enable access to these
e-mail accounts. Call Customer Service at 1-800-527-2404
if you have not signed up for an e-mail account
and would like one.
There are several different e-mail software programs
you can use. However, we recommend you use Microsoft
Outlook or Microsoft Outlook Express. Instructions
on how to configure your computer to send and
receive e-mail via these programs are provided
below:
Step 1: Open Outlook Express.
Step 2: Click on Tools at the
top of your screen and select Accounts.

Step 3: Click on the Add button
on the right hand side of the screen.

Step 4: Click on the Mail button.

Step 5: Enter your name in the Display
Name field provided and then click Next.

Step 6: Type in your email address in the Email
Address field.

Step 7: The incoming mail server is a POP 3 server.
Your incoming mail server is mail.prairieinet.net
and outgoing mail server is also mail.prairieinet.net.

Step 8: Enter Account Name and
Password. If you are given the
option to Connect using my local area
network then select it.

Step 9: Congratulations your email account is
set up on your computer to send and receive email!
