To upload your web site, you will need the following:
1. After you sign up for web hosting, we will provide
you with a username and password
for your domain.
2. An FTP client (free versions available at www.downloads.com)
How to upload your site:
Step 1: Open your FTP client.
Step 2: Create a new session.
Enter your website
address (e.g. www.cornerstore.com) in
the Host Name/Address box.
Enter your Username
(provided by Prairie iNet) in the User
ID box.
Enter you Password
(provided by Prairie iNet) in the Password
box.
Step 3: Press ok to connect
to the web server. You will see two side or sites.
The Local System represents the files on your
computer and the Remote Site represents our web
server or your web site files.
Step 4: Upload web pages or files.
Highlight the file on the
Local System side.
Press the Arrow pointing
to the Remote Site side.
You should now see it on the Remote Site side
- The file has now been transferred to your
web site.
Step 5: Confirm your web site
has been successfully uploaded.
Open your Internet Browser
(i.e.. Internet Explorer).
Type in the web address
of the page you just uploaded, e.g. www.yourwebpage.com/pagename.html
or www.cornerstore.com or www.cornerstore.com/products.
